Jobs are certainly hard to come by these days, but not if you work in the healthcare field. This is one part of the economy that continues to grow and even if you don’t have a college degree, you can still find a good job that pays well and allows you to help people every day – you can become a phlebotomist.
When people think of working with patients, they usually assume that you would need at least a two or four year degree to get started, but if you become a phlebotomist, all you need is a high school diploma. Each state has its own specific certifications that are necessary, but the only formal education you need will be behind you. In fact, if you become a phlebotomist, you will be the highest paid entry level person in your clinic, and as long as you aren’t scared of a little blood, you will have a job!
If you are looking for a great job that will always allow you to have job security, let you work with people and help them, and still provide you with a good salary, then this is definitely the job for you. The good news is that the requirements that are necessary for certification are minimal and although they do vary from state to state, you can often get qualified in as little as a few weeks.
Being a phlebotomist is a very easy way to make sure that you always have a skill to fall back on, and whether you are looking for part-time or full-time work, you should be able to find work in almost all parts of the country, regardless of the state of the economy. Because healthcare is always at the top of everyone’s list of importance, you will always be employable!
